PASSIONS OF PARADISE - Dive / Cruise

Passions of Paradise is a Great Barrier Reef Snorkelling, scuba diving cruise, sailing daily from Cairns to the Outer Barrier Reef and Upolu Cay. Escape from the crowds and enjoy snorkelling and diving in pristine tropical waters. If you want to travel on a genuine Australian product that has a reputation for friendly crew and fantastic diving locations, come and sail with us. We will make your cruise to the Great Barrier Reef experience one that you will always remember.

Itinerary

Departs: 8.00 am
Passions of Paradise travels daily to two destinations. The first is to Michaelmas Cay and the second is to Paradise Reef.
Both locations have an abundance of fish and coral, and the coral is located right next to the boat so you don’t have to swim far to see it.

Soft coral is most common around the cay, while hard corals are found at Paradise Reef because the water is deeper. This means you get to snorkel two completely different reef systems in one day.

For those passengers who wish to see the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and not get wet, the company has recently built a custom designed glass bottom tender. A marine naturalist guided tour is offered at Michaelmas Cay. Carrying no more than 14 passengers on our Glass Bottom Boat tours our passengers can interact throughout the tour with the marine guide and “test” their knowledge !!.

We have complimentary buoyancy vests, and we hold one of the very rare permits which allow our passengers access to the cay. This means you can learn to snorkel at the waters edge on the beach.
Check in starts at 0730 at our counter in the Reef Fleet Terminal, located undercover (handy for those early morning tropical showers) and only 30 meters from the boat.

The day includes morning and afternoon tea, a beautiful chef prepared hot and cold buffet lunch, all snorkelling equipment and the chance to sail on one of the fastest catamarans travelling to the Great Barrier Reef. As an Advanced Ecotourism Certified operator, you can be assured that the crew are trained to the highest levels of customer service and are always happy to share their extensive knowledge and love of the area. Special help is given to nervous or first time snorkellers. And for families, the beach at Michaelmas Cay is the perfect place to practice snorkelling and swimming.

For those passengers who want to try diving, our Instructor led introductory diving is done safely in shallow water, teeming with fish. For Certified divers, we offer two dives at two different sites, which include swim throughs, wall diving and remote diving from our custom designed dive tender.

Passions of Paradise was a proud winner of the 2006 & 2005 Queensland Tourism Awards as well as the 2006 TTNQ Tourism Awards and we look forward to showing you a great day, with the friendliest crew, taking you to the best locations.
